As we mentioned in our first post on the Salon, Michael was very active in the US Civil Rights Movement. If you would like to read a little more about his personal experiences, you can find Michael's essay "Disturbing the Peace" online (NB: please forgive the misspelling of ELTE as "KELTE" in the title -- not our fault!) as well as another brief article discussing his civil rights work.
